Harding Racing confirmed to Paddock Eye on Monday evening that Indy Lights driver Colton Herta, the son of Verizon IndyCar Series team co-owner Bryan Herta will test for the Main Street, Speedway, Indiana based outfit in the No.88 Harding Group Chevrolet in Portland on Friday.
The Verizon IndyCar Series will conduct a full test in Portland ahead of the venue’s return to the series schedule in a few weeks.
The test also gives Harding Racing the opportunity to test another driver and gather feedback as they continue to evaluate drivers for their second seat alongside Gabby Chaves for the 2019 IndyCar Series season.
A Harding Racing spokeswoman told Paddock Eye:
Yes we will be testing Colton this Friday. Our plan is to expand to a two-car effort in 2019. As part of our process of evaluating drivers we’ll be testing Colton in Portland while we look to the future.
