Ed Carpenter Racing’s JR Hildebrand will undergo mediccal checks in Indianapolis on Monday his team have confirmed.

Following Sunday’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach it was determined that the American had broken a bone in his left hand as a result of his accident with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Mikhail Aleshin.

Hildebrand finished Sunday’s race in 11th place. It remains unclear whether or not he will join team owner Ed Carpenter and the rest of the Verizon IndyCar Series drivers at Wednesday’s open test at Texas Motor Speedway.
