Schmidt Peterson Motorsports IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe who drives the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda was left speechless at a ceremony on Wednesday.

The Mayor of HinchTown who suffered a horrendous crash during practice on May 18th 2015 for the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500, met two women who helped to save his live by donating blood that helped save the Canadian’s life.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Hinch said:

Today was a good day. The two young ladies I’m standing with were two of the donors who’s blood I received on May 18, 2015 after my accident. It’s SO rare that donors ever learn who their recipients are, let alone meet them. While being inducted into the @indianaredcross Hall of Fame, the amazing people at the Red Cross surprised me with a video of two other donors who helped me that day, then brought Madelynn and Madison on stage. I’m rarely speechless. This was one of those moments. These two literally helped save my life. I can’t thank them enough for what they did, and regularly do, in donating. I can’t thank the Red Cross enough for the honour and the surprise! And finally, every donor out there, thank you. You are all heroes. No, go donate!!
