James Hinchcliffe in the No.29 Capstone #ShiftToGreen Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport Honda is aiming to end his time with the team and possibly his time in the NTT IndyCar Series with a strong result at this weekend’s season-ending Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach following what has been an extremely difficult season for the Canadian through no fault of his own just an awful of bad luck. Speaking ahead of the race this weekend, the Mayor of HinchTown commented saying:
“It’s crazy to think the season is almost over. It definitely hasn’t been the year the 29 crew wanted or deserved, but Long Beach is one of my favorite tracks, and street courses have been strong for us this year. We’re looking forward to a great race. It’s been amazing to represent Capstone and Genesys this year, as well drive for George and Michael and the entire Andretti Steinbrenner Racing team. I would love nothing more than to bring home some hardware and end the season on a high note.”
Ryan Hunter-Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda is starting his final race with the team after an extremely successful time with the outfit following a championship win and winning the Indianapolis 500 and speaking ahead of the race this weekend he said:
“It’s been a tough year and a lot of bad luck and circumstances have held us back. We have one more shot this season and I’m hoping to have a good, straight-forward weekend in Long Beach to put together a solid result. I love Long Beach – love the city, love the track. I’ve had a lot of special moments there over the years, including my first win with Andretti Autosport. It’d be really nice to finish things out the way it began and end my time with the team with a win at a track that feels like home.”
Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda heads to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach this weekend having taken victory last time out at the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey last weekend and speaking ahead of the race he said:
“I’m super excited to be back at Long Beach. This race means so much to me with it being the first INDYCAR race that I ever went to and also my home race! We’re rolling off a great result from Laguna Seca and we have a lot of momentum to end the season on a high!”
Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda goes into the weekend aiming to take his first win of the season following a difficult season and speaking ahead of the race he commented saying:
“And just like that we are at the last race of the year. While this year has been full of missed opportunities, we’ve got a great chance this weekend to return the 27 guys to victory lane. We know what we are capable of at Long Beach and will be using the energy of the fans to get us there.”
