Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe is hoping that changes the team made to his No.5 Arrow Honda prior to qualifying at Watkins Glen will help him to move forward following a ‘horrific’ Friday.
The Mayor of HinchTown ended the opening day of practice at Watkins Glen in 21st place and said following the on track that the team were unsure what the problem was.
Hinchcliffe heads into Sunday’s race following a second place finish at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend however the Canadian was docked 25 points and the team fined $20,000 after failing the post race inspection.
Hinchcliffe said that the team would look at the data from Mikhail Aleshin’s car and see what they can use on his car his Saturday.
Aleshin ended Friday’s practice session in 14th place with a fastest time of 01:23.9543s.
