Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet may have taken his first win of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday however, the Australian did not shy away from voicing his anger at Andretti Autosport’s James Hinchcliffe who he was unable to lap for a number of laps towards the end of the Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

Speaking following the race during the post-event press conference, Power said that Hinchcliffe needed to lead the race to give his sponsor Genesys some TV time by leading the race.

Power also hit out at IndyCar President Jay Frye for not introducing a rule that obligates back markers to get out of the way of leading cars as he said that this is something that the drivers and the series have discussed at length but he accused IndyCar officials of not listening to the drivers.
