American racing driver Shea Holbrook announced on Tuesday the formation of Maverick a new racing tem that will compete in the 2020 Battery Tender Global MX 5 Cup presented by Goodrich Tires which will run as the under card to the NTT IndyCar Series.
The team that has been set up by owner Bryan Hixon will field two cars one of which will be driven by Hixon who said:
With the passion of the motorsport industry, Maverick looks to connect with race fans to raise awareness for Autism Speaks and the World Wildlife Fund. It’s something I thoroughly enjoy and to be able to pair this enjoyment with driving and establishing the team, it’s very fulfilling,”
Former W Series driver and Mavrick Team Manager Shea Holbrook said:
I’ve enjoyed putting motorsport programs together for years now and am very excited about this new partnership. “While Bryan is the Team Owner and one of the drivers, he has entrusted in me to help manage the program as we get ready for our first season of competition.”
Maverick will compete in iRacing starting today, Tuesdy May 5 with Justin Pisctell who will also race for the tem in the real world. Speaking about iRacing Justin said:
I enjoy practicing and coaching via iRacing, so having the opportunity to join competitors and friends in a for prize money virtual series is exciting.
