Honda have confirmed the departure of their Formula One R&D Senior Managing Officer, Chief Officer of Motorsport Yasuhsia Arai and that he is to be replaced by Yasuke Hasegawa.

Arai had been in charge of the company’s Formula One operation since it was announced that they were to return to Formula One as an exclusive engine partner to McLaren last season however results at the Woking based outfit were marred by reliability problems with the Honda power unit which contributed to the team finishing in ninth place in the championship on 27 points ending the year just ahead of the Manor Racing Team.
