Honda Performance Development say that they believe that they have got to the bottom of the engine issues that they have experienced in the early stages of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season.

The manufacturer have suffered three engine failures in two weeks with Sebastien Bourdais and Ryan Hunter Reay in St Pete while on Friday in COTA Colton Herta suffered an engine failure.

It is believed that the issue could be as a result of a manufacturing issues that needs further investigation. Andretti Autosport COO Rob Edwards has expressed concern regarding the Honda issues.

The issues that Honda have experienced so far are similar to the ones that they had in the early part of the 2017 season.

The good news from Honda’s point of view is the fact that they have plenty of teams to help work out the issues. As it stands during the final practice at COTA, Honda occupy the top five positions.
