Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner has defended rival outfit, Haas F1 Team, following criticism from within the sport about how the team receives support from Ferrari.

In the opening two Grand Prix of the season, in Australia and Bahrain, Romain Grosjean has finished in the points meaning that as the teams head to China for the third race of the season, they are currently in 5th place in the championship with 18 points, just two behind the Williams Martini Racing Team.

Horner believes that the Haas F1 Team’s success shows that a new outfit can come into the sport and operate on a limited budget and compete. He stated:

To be honest, I don’t think it is a bad thing. It demonstrates that you can be competitive without having to employ 600 people and spend 200 million Euros.
