Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus VeeKay in the No.21 Building Tomorrow Chevrolet says that he hopes he can add a fifth win for Chevrolet this weekend at the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
The Dutch driver goes into this race as the defending race winner having scored his maiden NTT IndyCar Series victory here last year.
Speaking to The Paddock Eye during a Zoom conference call ahead of this weekend’s race, VeeKay said that the improvements he has made in qualifying recently have helped him to move forward and this showed in Barber Motorsports Park last time out when he took pole position and finished the race in third place in the race behind race winner Pato O’Ward and Alex Palou.
It is important to start off with great power, there has been a big improvement, it helps us a lot and makes the job less hard. I want to improve my job this weekend, I think we can keep building on our performance from Barber for this weekend.
VeeKay went on to say:
I really got the confidence to be right on the limit and push the out laps a bit more.
