Chip Ganassi Racing’s Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No.48 Carvana Honda says that he plans to be back in the race in nine days for the open test on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in preparation for the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on May 29.
Johnson has also confirmed that he plans to race in the Honda Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park on May 1.
The Californian underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair the fractured right hand he suffered during practice forast weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Tweeting on Tuesday, Johnson said:
