Chip Ganassi Racing’s Jimmie Johnson in the No.48 Carvana American Legion Honda will make his NTT IndyCar Series oval race debut at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend in the XPEL 375.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during a media conference on Wednesday, the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner at TMS said that he will lean on the race winning experience of his team-mate Scott Dixon.

Johnson told us that if he can use his Texas experience to run in the top ten that would be a major step up for the No.48 Carvana American Legion Honda crew.

Ultimately I want to run every lap of the race. I am just so new into my IndyCar experience. Certainly starting all over on ovals, ever lap will be a marked amount of experience and all of that we are trying to build up for the 500.
