Sebastien Bourdais and the KVSH Racing Team head to the Texas Motor Speedway for the Firestone 600 having come away from the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit with more points than any other driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series for that weekend.
In race 1 on Saturday Bourdais started the race from 13th place and came through the field to take his first victory of the season while he started race 2 from 12th place on the grid and came home in 8th place. The Frenchman has three previous starts at Texas Motor Speedway with his best qualifying of 14th coming in last years race while his best finish of 17th came in 2013.
Speaking ahead of the race in Texas this weekend, Bourdais commented by saying:
One of the KVSH Racing co-owners, “Sulli” (James ‘Sulli’ Sullivan) and some of our sponsors, are from Texas, so the race means a lot to him, our sponsors and the team. We had two good races in Detroit and we had a pretty good racecar last year at Texas. If we can keep making little gains with the car on the ovals, we may actually be looking pretty good in the Hydroxycut machine in Texas. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum from Detroit going.
