Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda goes into today’s Verizon IndyCar Series double points season finale Grand Prix of Sonoma in second place in the points standings, 29 behind leader Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing.
The Californian has scored three victories in 2018 and will roll off from sixth after setting a fastest time of 01:18.0019s,
Speaking ahead of race, Rossi said:
If we win, we’ve done our job right. If it doesn’t happen, that doesn’t really matter. We have to go into the weekend and do all we can do to maximize our potential. I mean I am going to win, I am going to try and beat people, do exactly what we’ve been doing all year. That’s our only responsibility.
Rossi rolls off sixth on the grid after setting a fastest time of 01:18.0019s while points leader Scott Dixon rolls off from the front row in second place alongside Rossi’s team mate Ryan Hunter Reay who secured his first Verizon P1 Award of the season.
