Officials at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced on Thursday afternoon that in field camping will be available to fans for the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis which takes place on May 13.

Camping tickets for all three days May 11-13 are on sale now priced at $125 for a tent spot and $150-$300 for RV spots. Speaking about the announcement, IMS President J Douglas Boles commented saying:

Camping is an essential part of the race weekend for so many of our loyal fans and we’re excited to introduce outstanding infield camping opportunities spots for tents and RVs during the INDYCAR Grand Prix.

Boles who was joined at the announcement by Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver Graham Rahal who drives the No.15 Steak N’Shake Honda went on to say:

Camping inside IMS is the perfect way to get as close to the action as possible while enjoying a great time with family and friends. “I can’t wait to camp out and talk about racing and IMS with fans. It will be such a fun weekend.
