The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced on Wednesday that fans will be welcomed back to the Racing Capital of the World for next month’s 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which takes place on Sunday, May 30 are expecting a crowd of 135,000 at the Greatest Spectacle In Racing.
The number will make the Indianapolis 500, the biggest event to be staged with fans in the world since the COVID 19 global pandemic began last year.
Speaking during Wednesday’s announcement, President and CEO of Penske Entertainment Corporation, Mark Miles urged fans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible saying:
The number-one thing fans can do to ensure a great Race Day is get vaccinated as quickly as possible,” Penske Entertainment President & CEO Mark Miles said. “We continue to offer vaccinations at IMS and will be extending our mass vaccination clinic throughout the Month of May. This is all part of the effort to continue getting Indiana back on track.
