The NTT IndyCar Series announced a record number of 33 Drivers for this weekend’s Firestone 175 at Twin Ring Motegi on Saturday.
Takuma Sato joins the field in his No.30 Panasonic/Keihin Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda. Team Penske will have five drivers in the field with three time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves joining the field in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet.
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Busch will drive the No.51 Rowdy Energy Dallara joins the field. Busch is the latest NASCAR driver to join the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge with Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. having also competed last time out where he started the race from 18th and came home on the virtual podium in third place.
Ed Carpenter Racing will have a full compliment of drivers with Rinus VeeKay making his NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge debut in the No.21 Sonax Chevrolet alongside team owner Ed Carpenter in the No.50 Direct Supply Chevrolet and Conor Daly in the No.20 US Air Force Chevrolet.
The grid is the same size of the Indianapolis 500 with a ten minute qualifying prior to the race which will be live on NBCSN at 2.30PM ET in the US and 7.30PM on Sky Sports F1HD in the UK and Ireland.
