When we look at the teams involved in the Verizon IndyCar Series, the likes of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing have two women right at the heart of their operations with Leena Gade as chief race engineer for James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda while Ganassi have Danielle Shepard and Kate Gundlach working as assistant engineers and are extremely successful at what they do.

Former Verizon IndyCar Series driver Sarah Fisher became a team owner with Wink Hartmann and then teamed up with Ed Carpenter Racing and was extremely successful helping to launch the career of defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden.

Fisher is still heavily involved in the Verizon IndyCar Series working as the official pace car driver along with her other business interests which include the extremely impressive Speedway Karting facility which is just down the street from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but during the month of May, Speedway karting can be found at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
