The NTT IndyCar Series are set to going racing for the first time in 2020 next weekend when they head to Texas Motor Speedway for the Geneyes 300, the opening race of the season.
The series announced at the Indianapolis 500 last year that working in partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and chassis builder Dallara they had developed an aeroscreen cockpit protection device.
Five time series champion Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing and two time champion Josef Newgarden tested the aeroscreen extensively before its introduction during Spring Training at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin Texas in February.
The drivers have all shown great support for the aeroscreen and reported no issues with the device and next week will be the first that the teams will race with it.
Racer.com reported on Wednesday that NTT IndyCar Series rookies will have a 30 minute practice session before going straight into official practice, qualifying and then the race on Saturday June 6.
