NTT IndyCar Series teams have come together in the fight against the Coronavirus. Chip Ganassi Racing, Andretti Autosport, Team Penske and Arrow McLaren SP are just some of the teams who are using the resources at their disposal to help frontline healthcare workers in the fight against COVID 19.

The teams have been producing protective face masks and shields for the frontline staff at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Speaking to RTV6 Sports Dave Furst, team owner Michael Andretti said that they wanted to do something to help the healthcare workers so his daughter came up with the idea of manufacturing the masks and then the other teams got on board with the support of their partners.

The production of the items is fully automated meaning that social distancing is being observed at all times.

Meanwhile, chassis manufacturer Dallara have for the past few weeks been producing hospital gowns in their Speedway facility.
