The Renault Sport F1 Team became the latest outfit to launch their 2017 car on Tuesday.
The R.S17 was unveiled at an event in London by the Enstone outfit’s drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Jolyon Palmer.
Sporting a dual colour scheme of yellow and black, Renault Sport Racing’s corporate colours the car looks striking and the team will be hoping that it can be striking when it comes to their on track performances.
Nico Hulkenberg who replaces Kevon Magnussen at the Enstone outfit this year is not the only new face. Four time Formula One champion Alain Prost joins the team as a ‘special advisor’ but will not be involved in the day to day running of the outfit.
The team have also welcomed Castrol/Edge as their official fuel and lubricants supplier along with Spanish insurance firm Mapfre joining the outfit.
Speaking about Mapfre’s arrival, Rebault Sport Racing Director Cyril Abiteboul stated:
I’m very pleased that MAPFRE is making its Formula One debut with us. MAPFRE is targeting expansion on a global level and our F1 team is an excellent platform to reach this objective. MAPFRE is a great brand with a solid understanding of sponsorship; it is well equipped to add value to their partnership with us. We hope to reward them in 2017 with a strong step forward in performance. Finally, historical affinities between Renault, F1 and Spain are once more alive thanks to this partnership.
The Enstone outfit will join their rivals at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya for the start of winter testing on Monday 27 February.
