The Monaco based Venturi ABB FIA Formula E team announced on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s season opening SAUDIA Diriyah ePrix double header that they have signed a three year sponsorship agreement with telecommunications company RoKit.
The new partnership will see the team become the RoKit Venturi Racing team who became a Mercedes partner over the pre season.
The news expands RoKit’s involvement in motorsport as they are also title sponsor to the Williams Racing Formula One team.
Speaking about the news, RoKit Venturi Racing team principal Susie Wolff said:
We’ve very proud to welcome ROKIT to the Venturi family. The partnership is a fantastic endorsement of the progress we have made as a team in season 5. We are understandably excited by what the next three years hold for both ROKIT and Venturi. But now it is time to go racing.
Edoardo Mortara starts race one from fourth place while a mistake in qualifying sees Felipe Massa start 17th.
