The NTT IndyCar Series heads to Iowa next weekend for the their second doubleheader race in the space of a week. The Iowa 250’s take place on Saturday and Sunday July 17 and 18 at Iowa Speedway which take place under the lights.

Speaking during a media video conference call on Wednesday Andretti Harding Steinbrenner Autosport’s Colton Herta, driver of the No.88 Capstone Honda revealed that the format for qualifying for the races next weekend will be slightly different.

When qualifying on ovals usually drivers do two laps with the average speed of the two laps calculating the drivers start position however when qualifying takes place on Friday due to it being a two day show drivers will set their position for race one onctheir first lap while the second lap will be where they start Saturday’s race from.
