Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya was back in action for the first time since the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season finale GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma on Tuesday.

The Colombian is driving the No.22 Chevrolet in May and took part in an open test at Barber Motorsports Park.

Speaking about his return to the cockpit of an IndyCar, Montoya stated:

“I feel like I drove the car yesterday. “It’s kind of fun. I’ve been out of the car since September, but I feel fine. I have a new crew, new guys, new engineer. It’s working really well.

Montoya will drive in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis in mid May before returning to the Brickyard at the end of month for 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
