It has been a wonderful week for AJ Foyt Racing.

The team had a fantastic 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge where David Malukas in the No.4 Clarience Technologies started the race from seventh and came home on the podium in second place.

Fast forward to the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on Sunday, David Malukas in the No.4 Clarience Technologies Chevrolet qualified on the front row in second while Santino Ferrucci started the race in 21st place.

Ferrucci came through the field to finish the race in second place behind Kyle Kirkwood.

The podium finish at the Indianapolis 500, was the team’s best result at the Brickyard since Kenny Brack won for the team in 1999.

The two podiums in two races was AJ Foyt Racing’s first time doing this since 2015 when Takuma Sato won in Long Beach and picked up a podium at the very next race in Brazil.

The team has continued their technical partnership with Team Penske and in the last two races of the season have outperformed the team.

Foyt has also consolidated their racing operation to their race shop on Main Street Speedway.

Speaking following Sunday’s Detroit Grand Prix, Larry Foyt said:

I really thought we had a shot at it, but I think the tires were just a little overheated and Kyle was able to get him. Santino did a great job on the restart to get back to second. This racing is so tough, and starting back from where we were, the guys did an amazing job in the pits. We caught a yellow at the right time, which is what you need to cycle to the front. And it worked out. So, I think we’re really hitting a groove. Things are coming together. David was fast all weekend. I hate that he got the penalty in the race because he would have been right up there. But just really happy for Santino and the whole team because this was a whole team effort.”
