NTT IndyCar Series race steward Max Papis says that this morning’s Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing photo opportunity which saw all three RLL driver go down the main straight at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway together at a slow speed should not have happened.

Just over ten minutes into the session this morning the team came on track and took the photograph which resulted in Andretti Autosport’s Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda having to check up as he came out of turn 4 and made contact with Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet.

Spewking to NBC’s Leigh Diffey on Thursday, Papis said that discussions will take place with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s are celebrating 30 years of IndyCar Series competition.
