Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Spritz Chip Ganassi Racing Honda says it was a perfect day for the team on day 2 of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The defending Indy 500 winner not only had the fastest speed overall but also the fastest in the no-tow speed. Speaking following the action when he set the fastest speed of 229.607MPH, he commented saying:

“It was a really good day for the whole team and especially the 8 team. We were fastest on the speed charts and also the no-tow, as well. It was a very positive day and the car feels really hooked up. I’m looking forward to tomorrow with the high boost. It’s going to be fun.”

Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was second, just like Wednesday, with a speed of 229.186MPH, and speaking following the action, he commented saying:

“Today was a bit up and down. We learned some stuff and swapped over at the end there to do one run on lower downforce in a kind of qualifying setting. We felt okay, but just didn’t do a very good job of it and got a bit mixed up on the gears. But all was okay.”

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato aims to become only the fourth driver to win three Indianapolis 500 races with three different teams.

The Japanese driver ended the day in P7 with a speed of 227.818MPH, and speaking following the action, the driver of the No.11 Deloitte Honda said:

“It was another great day and we learned a lot. In fact, I think in the early afternoon we struggled a bit to find good grip and balance, but toward the end on the long runs we found a happy place. That was really encouraging to see. In the end, we did one shot of the qualifying sim in order to prepare for the weather if it turns bad. But all in all, once again, the four cars were competitive and it was a good day.”

Alex Palou in the No.10 The American Legion Honda ended the day in ninth place and speaking following the action he said:

“We ran quite a lot today in race trim, and then qualifying trim at the end there. Feeling confident and all four Ganassi cars were fast again. I can’t wait for Fast Friday with more boost and a bit more speed.”
