AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan says that it was obvious decision to go part time in the NTT IndyCar Series for 2020.

Speaking to RTV6’s Dave Furst following his announcement TK said that the loss of sponsorship and the struggles that AJ Foyt Racing have had in recent years were major factors in his decision that the 2020 season will be his last as a full time driver in the series.

TK said he doesn’t know what the future holds for him and whether or not he will be back for the Indianapolis 500 following the race in May.

The Brazilian heads into the new season with a new team with his old Chip Ganassi Racing team mate Charlie Kimball joining the team.
