Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Chevrolet was third.
RC Enerson was fourth fastest on a productive morning for Carlin Racing.
Andretti Autosport had a strong morning with Zach Veach in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda and Marco Andretti in the No.98 US Concrete Honda ended the morning in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon driving the No.9 PNC Bank Honda was sixth fastest just ahead of Harding Steinbrenner Racing’s Colton Herta in the No.88 Honda.
Spencer Pigot was eighth fastest for Ed Carpenter Racing just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda.
Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet rounded out the top ten for Carlin Racing.
AJ Foyt Racing’s Mathieus Leist was 11th fastest in the No.4 ABC Supply Chevrolet just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’sFelix Rosenqvist in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda.
Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda ended the session in 13th place.
Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves who returns to the NTT IndyCar Series this week in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet ended the session in 14th place just ahead of Dale Coyne Racing’s Santino Ferrucci.
Team Penske’s Will Power was 16th in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet just ahead of Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda.
Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet for Team Penske was 18th just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 United Rentals Honda.
Meyer Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda was 20th just ahead of Dale Coyne with Vassar Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais is in the No.18 SealMaster Honda.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack Honda was 22nd fastest just ahead of Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Jones.
AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the No.11 ABC Supply Chevrolet was 24th fastest while Juncos Racing’s Kyle Kaiser in the No.32 Chevrolet rounded out the order in 25th place respectively.
