The grid is set and the drivers are all ready, the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil is TOMORROW.
Chip Ganassi Raing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 Camping World Honda starts the race from pole position, his third at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Iceman won here from pole in 2008 and will be hoping for a similar result on Sunday.
It has been a fantastic month of May for Indianapolis 500 rookie Fernando Alonso, who has been extremely competitive all month since arriving at the Speedway to prepare for the 500. The double world champion hasn’t put a foot wrong and will start Sunday’s race from the second row in fifth place and he is hoping that he can win the race from the second row.
It is going to be a long race for all of the drivers but it is nearly time for all the waiting to stop.
It is also a big weekend for new Verizon IndyCar Series teams Juncos Racing and Harding Racing who both make their race debut on Sunday. It will be extremely interesting to see how they get on during the race on Sunday.
Following a disappointing qualifying last weekend, Team Penske will be hoping that they can challenge at the front for victory.
It is going to be an incredible race and you don’t want to miss it.
