Chip Ganassi Racing’s Jimmie Johnson in the No.48 Carvana American Legion Honda says that he expects to have a strong race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during last weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix presented by RP Funding, the seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion said that following a strong a test at TMS last season he expects a solid performance.
Johnson, who competed on ovals during his time in NASCAR is competing full-time in the NTT IndyCar Series with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2022 said he expects to challenge for a top-15 finish.
Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull told Paddock Eye in St Pete that he believes that Johnson can challenge for a top-10 finish given his previous experience at the track with NASCAR.
Johnson will join the rest of his Ganassi team-mate’s at Texas Motor Speedway on Monday for a pre-race test.
