Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ed Jones says he is really pleased with his Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach result as the Dubai native secured his first podium for the the team in only his third race with the outfit.
Jones who started Sunday’s race from 13th place on the grid came through the field to match his best Verizon IndyCar Series result to date which was a third place during the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Speaking about the result in Long Beach, Jones who drives the No.10 NTT DATA Honda commented by saying:
It was tough out there today. “We had been struggling with the NTT DATA car on cold tires. Once we got heat in the tires, it was better. I’m really pleased with the result, though. It’s just my third race with the team and I was able to equal my best result in the Verizon IndyCar Series.
