Juncos Hollinger Racing founder and team co-owner Ricardo Juncos says it feels amazing after Conor Daly came through the field during race 1 at the Milwaukee Mile to claim a podium finish, the team’s first in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Daly came through the field from 25th place to score his first podium since Detroit 2016 and speaking following the race, Juncos said:
“To have our first ever podium for the team here at Milwaukee is amazing. To have it come with Conor Daly behind the wheel who has a history of racing with us makes it even more special. I’m really really pleased with the team and and all the effort from everybody. This couldn’t be possible without everyone; the engineers, mechanics our sponsors and the fans. We need to keep our focus because we have another race to execute tomorrow. This truly has been a team effort to get to this point and without Romain’s input as an addition to the team we wouldn’t be where we are. It was amazing to see how everyone was so happy for the 78 team. The 77 crew were just as happy, it really is a family here. We will keep pushing forward and look to close out the 2024 season on a strong note.”
For race 2 later today, Daly will start the event from 20th place, while Romain Grosjean will roll-off 14th. Speaking following his podium finish, Daly said:
“It feels amazing, I appreciate Ricardo and Brad just giving me a chance. We had a lot of bad luck the first few times together, but tonight they gave me the car today to do it. Thank you to Chevrolet for getting us the engine last night. Obviously the penalty today was tough, but just super thankful for everyone here at Juncos Hollinger Racing. I want to do well in this series and it has been far too long since I’ve been on the podium. I just love racing here and can’t be more proud of what we accomplished tonight.”
