Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan conducted the teams first test using Honda engines at Gateway Motorsports Park on Thursday.

It was confirmed last weekend that after three years with Chevrolet which included Scott Dixon winning the Verizon IndyCar Series championship in 2015 that Ganassi would return to using Honda power in 2017.

Following on from the announcement that Kanaan is remaining with the team in 2017, the Brazilian took part in a full day of testing in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda on Thursday. The test was chance for the team and Honda to gather some initial data and feedback from Kanaan about the new engine before winter testing gets under way ahead of the new season.
