Verizon IndyCar Series veteran Tony Kanaan took to Facebook following the 2017 season finale GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma to thank his fans, his team, sponsors and mechanics for their support during the year.
Kanaan, along with fellow Brazilian Helio Castroneves celebrated 20 years in the series in 2017 with Kanaan creating TK20, a year long celebration of his career.
Kanaan commented by saying:
🇺🇸 One more #INDYCAR season in the books. Hard to believe I’ve been in this sport for 20 years already. This year was a tough one but I’ve got to thank all my sponsors, team, mechanics, engine and tire suppliers for all the support during 2017. I’m looking forward to what the future holds for me. The 2018 IndyCar Series car is one badass machine and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel for some testing🇧🇷
Kanaan revealed over the weekend that he is in talks with several teams for 2018 having confirmed that after four seasons with the team, Sonoma was his last race for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Paddock Eye understands that later this week, possibly as early as Wednesday that AJ Foyt Racing will announce they have signed Kanaan on a two year contract.
It is certainly not the last we have seen of Tony Kanaan in the Verizon IndyCar Series.
