AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet led the way during Wednesday’s manufacturer test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Brazilian who set a fastest speed of 226.7MPH. Speaking following the test, the 2013 Indy 500 winner said:

The downforce level for this place, when they changed the car they kept it pretty similar from last year, at the minimum. “It’s not something that’s unfamiliar territory for us. When we run in race trim, it’s close to what we qualified in last year. For all the tracks, this is the one that’s the least amount of difference.

It was the second time in three days that Kanaan had led the time-sheets as the Brazilian was fastest on the opening day of testing on Monday.

Ed Carpenter Racing team owner Ed Carpenter was fastest in the No.20 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet just ahead of Harding Racing’s Gabby Chaves in the No.88 Chevrolet. Danica Patrick in the No.13 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing was sixth fastest with a speed of 220.8MPH.

Verizon IndyCar Series rookie Robert Wickens in the No.6 Lucas Oil Honda was the fastest Honda powered driver in fourth place behind Kanaan, Carpenter and Chaves.
