Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda says he wants to give the company a great result to end the season with this weekend at the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma following a tough season for the No.10 crew.
Speaking to the IndyCar Radio Network during the opening practice session at Sonoma, Kanaan said that he has had no talks with Chip Ganassi about next season and when asked directly if this weekend’s race would be his last race with Ganassi, TK said that this would be an accurate assumption.
Kanaan also said that he has heard reports that someone else is taking his seat in the No.10 Honda next season and alluded to the fact that NTT DATA will remain with team mate Scott Dixon in 2018.
Kanaan also confirmed that he will do everything in his power to help the Iceman win his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series championship.
It is expected that Kanaan will sign a two year contract to drive for AJ Foyt Racing from 2018 with a deal set to be announced in the next few days following the end of the 2017 season.
