Arrow McLaren Team Principal and 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan says that he will be on standby for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May, 25.
Speaking to INDYCAR and IMS President J Douglas Boles at the 100 Days to Indy party at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday evening, the Brazilian ssod that he will step into Kyle Larson’s car should the start of the Greatest Spectacle In Racing be delayed due to rain.
Last year’s race was delayed due to rain which meant that NASCAR star Kyle Larson missed the start of the race.
Kanaan said on Froday that although Larson is scheduled to once again compete for Arrow McLaren alongside Pato O’Ward, Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel his main priority is competing in the Coca-Cola 600.
Kanaan confirmed that he will participate in the rookie and refresher test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to the Greatest Spectacle In Racing.
