Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s Sage Karam says he is looking forward to getting the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season underway at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.
Karam driving the No.24 Wix Filters Chevrolet is taking part in an expanded schedule in 2020 which includes this weekend’s race, the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on May 24 and the Honda Indy Toronto.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s race, Karam said:
Needless to say, I’m so happy to have WIX Filters back on my No. 24 Chevrolet car for 2020 and to expand our NTT INDYCAR SERIES race schedule with the St. Petersburg race this weekend. It’s exciting to continue the DRR relationship with WIX for the Indy 500 as we look to win that prestigious race. I have worked with WIX Filters for several years now and the new car looks awesome. Our WIX Filters IndyCar livery will be another crowd-pleaser this year. St. Pete will be the first road race for DRR in nearly seven years and we had a good test session in Sebring already. I have been working on the simulator too for the St. Pete track. It’s not much different than when I drove there in 2015. It will be great to have all of the WIX folks and our team’s other sponsors at the race this weekend. I know they are excited too. Our crew has been working hard on pit stops in recent months and they were very quick when I was at the shop a few weeks back. The WIX DRR Chevy team and I are ready to go.”
