Carlin Racing’s Charlie Kimball has had a busy off-season in the Verizon IndyCar Series. The Californian and his wife Kathleen welcomed their first child into the world and now Charlie is getting ready for the new season.
There has been plenty of rumors regarding Kimball’s future in the IndyCar Series, will he stay at Carlin?, will he go elsewhere in the series?
Paddock Eye understands that following a strong debut season in IndyCar, Carlin Racing will remain a two car full-time team in 2019 with Charlie Kimball staying on in the No.23 Tresiba Chevrolet.
Kimball finished the 2018 season in 17th place on 287 points. Kimball who has Type 1 Diabetes has with the help of his partners NovoNordisk developed a system where he can give himself a shot of insulin while driving the car if needs be.
This has given kids who may be suffering from diabetes the opportunity to see that they can still race despite their diagnosis.
