AJ Foyt Racing’s Charlie Kimball who returns to full-time competition in the NTT IndyCar Series next month says he has unfinished business at Texas Motor Speedway when the 2020 season gets underway with the 200 lap Genesys 300.
The Californian who joined Carlin Racing in 2018 spent last season as a part time driver in the No.83 Chevrolet. Kimball took pole position at Texas Motor Speedway with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2017but was classified in 21st place at the end of the race.
Kimball whose wife Kathleen gave birth to their second child Gordon in March just prior to the original start of the 2020 season didn’t take part in the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge enjoyed his extended paternity leave as a result of the COVID 19 lockdown measures.
Kimball will pilot the No.4 Tresiba Chevrolet and will be joined at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday June 6 by Tony Kanaan in the No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet.
