Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 Siemens Honda says it was a good start as he led the way on Friday in Road America.

Kirkwood goes into the weekend with momentum on his side. The Floridian has won the last two races in Detroit and last time out at World Wide Technology Raceway.

The Andretti driver is third in the championship, 75 points behind championship leader Alex Palou who ended the day in ninth place.

Speaking following the action, Kirkwood said:

Good start. “Definitely a session that was hindered a little bit by the red and the timing (of red flag). Happy to be quick once again here. We were quick last year, so I guess that’s a good positive to take away from today, and hopefully that trend continues.

“But the weather is going to be so much different tomorrow that I’m not sure what we learned from today is going to be applicable tomorrow or the next day. We’ll see what happens.”
