Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 Siemens AWS Honda took his second victory of the season in Detroit on Saturday following a chaotic Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.

Starting the race from third Kirkwood foight at the end of the race with AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Sexton Properties Chevrolet to claim victory and keep Honda Racing Corporation’s 100 precent win record going in 2025.

Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda who started the race from pole came home in third just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet.

Kyffin Simpson scored his career best result with fifth in the No.8 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda.

Marcus Armstrong was sixth after recovering from a collision early on in the race with his team mate Felix Rosenqvist.

Pato O’Ward in the No.5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet was seventh just ahead of his team mate Christian Lundgaard while Josef Newgarden carved his way through the field from the back to finish in ninth.

Alexander Rossi came home tenth for Ed Carpenter Racing just ahead of Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda who has lost a place in the championship, dropping to seventh, 141 points behind Palou.

Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 TireRack.com Chevrolet was 12th just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and David Malukas who was given a penalty for his collison with Alex Palou.

Sting Ray Robb was 15th just ahead of Robert Shwartzman and Conor Daly while Jacob Abel was 18th for Dale Coyne Racing.

Nolan Siegel and Graham Rahal were the last drivers classified.

Rinus VeeKay went out of the race with mechanical issue while there was a red flag for a major crash between Louis Foster who suffered a right front suspension failure hitting Felix Rosenqvist at high speed.

Rosenqvist was taken away in an ambulance complaining of a sore leg.

Devlin DeFrancesco and Christian Rasmussen retired from the race as did Callum Ilott and Devlin DeFrancesco.

Kirkwood heads to St Louis in third in the championship.
