Santino Ferrucci carved his way through the field from 19th on the grid to finish fifth just ahead of Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Conor Daly who led laps and came close to claiming his first career win.
Rinus VeeKay had a great day coming home in seventh just ahead of championship leader Alex Palou who has seen his lead in the championship cut to 73 points.
Marcus Armstrong was ninth while Robert Shwartzman had a great race for PREMA as he ended the race in tenth.
Alexander Rossi came home 11th while David Malukas was left disappointed having starting the race fourth and ending the event in 12th having led laps.
The Chicago native had to serve a penalty. Marcus Ericsson was 13th just ahead of Christian Lundgaard who had to serve a stop go penalty for improper pit procedure.
Kyffin Simpson came home in 15th for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Felix Rosenqvist was 16th just ahead of Colton Herta and Callum Ilott while Nolan Siegel was 19th.
Sting Ray Robb rounded out the top twenty. Jacob Abel was 21st just ahead of Graham Rahal who had a dreadful race was 22nd.
All three Penske drivers, Scott McLaughlin, Josef Newgarden and Will Power all retired from the race.
Louis Foster also retired following a scary crash with Josef Newgarden but fortunately both drivers walked away ok.
