Kiwis – Born To Fly is a documentary from Perspective Group charting the rise of New Zealanders competing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The documentary, to be aired on Sky New Zealand next month, follows the likes of six-time series champion Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing and his path to becoming one of the greatest drivers in America’s premier single-seater racing category.

The documentary, produced by David Turner, also hears from INDYCAR SERIES rookie Marcus Armstrong who, in 2023, embarked on his debut season in the series sharing the No.11 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda with series veteran Takuma Sato. Armstrong is competing in a partial schedule on road and street courses.

Kiwis – Born To Fly spoke to Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin, who joined the series in 2020 and talked about his move to the U.S and what his transition from V8 Supercars in Australia to the NTT INDYCAR Series has been like.

Paddock Eye was lucky enough to see a preview clip of the documentary, and we must say, from what we saw, this documentary give a great insight to the world of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES from a New Zealander’s point of view.

It is not just NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers who were part of the documentary but Hunter McElrea, who is currently in fourth place in the Indy NXT presented by Firestone championship with Andretti Autosport.

The documentary also talks to the Julian brothers’ Blair, the manager of Chip Ganassi Racing’s IndyCar program, and Anton, who works for Arrow McLaren.

The documentary also spoke with veteran Andretti Autosport team member Paul ‘Ziggy’ Harcus. The documentary will air in New Zealand on Sky New Zealand in September.
