Williams Martini Racing’s Chief Technical Officer Paddy Lowe has confirmed that the Grove based outfit will give Robert Kubica one of the tyre test days at the two day post Abu Dhabi Grand Prix test programme.
Williams are currently evaluating different driver options for 2018 following the news that Felipe Massa will retire following the season finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this month.
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Lowe said that the decision to run Kubica will be made internally and this is also the case with regards to who will drive alongside Lance Stroll next season.
Williams have had a tough 2017 season with their best result coming in Baku courtesy of Lance Stroll when the Canadian finished on the podium in third place behind Valtteri Bottas.
Kubica has tested with Williams Martini Racing earlier this season alongside Paul Di Resta, the pair tested in Silverstone and also Hungary during the Summer.
Kubica returned to Renault earlier this year having signed a short term contract with the Enstone based outfit. The Polish driver competed a successful test for the French manufacturer and also took part in the hill-climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
