The F1 driver jigsaw puzzle has another piece in place with Toro Rosso confirming on Saturday morning that Daniil Kvyat will remain with the team for the 2017 season.
Kvyat, who started the 2016 season with Red Bull Racing alongside Daniel Ricciardo was replaced by Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix in May, a race which Verstappen went on to win.
Kvyat returned to Toro Rosso and heads into Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas in 14th place in the drivers standings on 25 points.
It was reported that Red Bull backed Pierre Gasly but he will have wait until the end of next season to see what the driver market does. The team have also confirmed that despite interest from the Renault Sport F1 Team, Carlos Sainz Jr will remain with the Italian team for next season.
