NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson, the driver of the No.17 HendrickCars Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, says it is good to have the Indianapolis 500 here finally. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion completed two laps and set the 27th fastest speed.

Speaking following a rain-shortened practice on Tuesday, Larson said:

“It’s good to finally have the Indy 500 here. “I’ve known about this (double attempt) for a couple of years now, so it’s been a lot of waiting. Just happy to get this experience underway. The weather is getting in the middle of things today, but once we get through today, it should be good.”

Larson and the other Arrow McLaren drivers, Alexander Rossi, Pato O’Ward, and Callum Ilott, completed a total of 24 laps. There a total of 219 laps completed on Tuesday. Due to the lack of running on Tuesday, INDYCAR has decided to extend Wednesday’s running by two hours, meaning the action will get underway at 10AM local time instead of Noon.
