NASCAR Cup star Kyle Larson, who was due to complete the Indy 500 / Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR events on Sunday, has confirmed to NBC Sports that his priority is to complete the Indianapolis 500 today and says he hopes to drive something today. Speaking to NBC during the weather holding pattern at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion, who qualified fifth for his first Indianapolis 500, said that it is not just his decision as to whether or not he will stay in Indianapolis.

Larson said the decision is also up to team owner Rick Hendrick and other team personnel. Larson also said that too much effort has gone into preparing for the Indianapolis 500.

Larson competes in the No.17 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet alongside Alexander Rossi, Pato O’Ward, and Callum Ilott. It is understood that if Larson does not race at Charlotte later tonight than he would need a waiver from NASCAR to get into the Playoffs.
